From Gamer To Tester

In this day and age it's very common for people to see make money from home ads on the Internet or on the TV. I remember, not too long ago I saw a work from home ad on the Internet.

After clicking on the link I saw that it was for video game testers. I got so excited and just started clicking away scanning all the pages on the site till I got to the order page(BAD IDEA).

So, like the impulsive shopper I am, I signed up for the web sites membership. And I made sure I got everything I could from their services, reading every little text in their so called "guides".

Then as I was reading the guides I realized, it's the same thing over and over! It's like they mastered restating sentences to keep the reader's attention.

I felt so dumb. I couldn't believe I fell for such a stupid sales pitch. I was ready to give up trying to become a video game tester. But I couldn't, I really wanted to make my attempts to become a video game tester work.

So I did some research on a big number of these membership web sites. Turns out there's so many scam sites out there that promise you work, but in return they need your money to "file your application".

Well if you look for the right web sites you can avoid all that trouble. Legit websites wouldn't ask you to pay more if you already signed up for a membership.

Truth is, there are hundreds of gaming companies who are looking for new talented video game testers. Most of these scam sites claim they will file your application to all of these companies, which would be great! If they actually did it.

If you go to the right place you can look through the job listing pages and CHOOSE who you would like to test for.

The web site i found helped me get a job in no time. Best part about it is they have 8 ecourses, or guides. And unlike that other web site, these guides were helpful. Not to mention the fact that only one of the 8 ecourses contained more information than that other site's whole "Game Tester Guide".

I'm so glad i found this new freelance web site. It gave me the upper hand i needed in order to land the job at one of my favorite gaming companies.

If i knew i could make $17/hour on my first day at ANY job so easily, i would've quit my old job so much longer ago. I hope you guys learned something from reading this article.

Did you know that it takes the average person up to 3 months to find a new job? Can't wait that long? I sure couldn't so i took initiative. I did my research and learned all i could about this job. See what exactly what i did at http://www.squidoo.com/become-gametester

Good luck!

Video Game Tester Needed

You know, with the economy at it's current state you'd think game testing jobs are out of the question. Well not in my case. A few months ago the company I was working for let go of almost the whole video game testing department.

I never thought I would find another job like that again. But you know what, I'm not the kind of person who gives up easily. So i kept searching for other ways to get game testing jobs besides going out to the companies and asking them if they're hiring.

Then, someone told me something that just made me feel so stupid for wasting my time.

Video game companies do most of their hiring through freelance services. I wish i had known about these game testing web sites before. I bet i could have made a lot more money than i was making before.

Most of these web sites are just for show though. I signed up for a few of them and i found out the ones that ask less from you are the ones that help you out the most.

Some of these freelance web sites can really screw you over though. We all know how it is to be looking for a job out of desperation. You make irrational decisions and in the end all you have is regret.

Finding a video game tester job can be difficult even if you're a veteran game tester. But no one should have to settle for a job that is paying $8/hour to play a game excessively for 8 hours in a day. Find out how you can make $10-$20/hour on your first day as a video game at my lens.

Skills To Develop As A Video Game Tester

I get a lot of questions about what kind of skills a video game tester needs. So i decided I could just make a post and hopefully people can just come and read instead of filling my inbox. lol

In order for anyone to become successful as a video game tester there are some skills you really want to work on. For most of us, mainly the hardcore video gamers, these skills may come easily. But not everyone wanting to become a video game tester is a hardcore gamer.

One skill that is completely needed for every video game tester is, you gotta have an understanding of computers. As a video game tester you will be using computers to send information back and forth to the gaming companies you work for. that is, if you work from home and not a testing center.

So it's really important that you know how to use a computer, you don't want to be in a situation where you're computer messes up on you mid work and you lose all your information. You have to know how to at least identify what the problem is, that way you can find a solution for it.

Sometimes, if you are testing video games on your computer, you will be asked by the gaming companies to install certain software into your computer in order to play the game. So naturally you're gonna need to know how to install software into your computer.

Another skill that is required of a video game tester is understanding of video games. This shouldn't be a problem at all for anyone who is a hardcore gamer. but if you have no idea, all you really have to do is GOOGLE! lol Or you can rent a few games, make sure you get all different varieties.

You're going to want to know how video games are created, this can help you scope out glitches in the game easier. It's good for you to be able to notice a glitch as soon as it happens. It makes the working so much faster when you notice it right away. Sometimes you'll have to go through a whole level in the game 3 or 4 times just to find the glitch. If you know how to identify it right away. I can cut your time in half.

I hope this answered some of your questions on video game tester skills. If you want to know how you can start a new career in video game testing make sure you check out this very well trusted web site. Even if you're not ready to being a career, you should still sign up for their emails. It's filled with information on video game testing.
